About Us
NomadicAid is a humanitarian and development initiative focused on enhancing the well-being of nomadic, pastoral, and rural communities throughout Ethiopia’s drylands, especially in the Somali, Afar, and Oromia regions. Our goal is to provide mobile, inclusive, and climate-resilient aid that moves with the people—strengthening livelihoods, conserving natural resources, and promoting peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.
Our Mandate
NomadicAid’s mandate is to serve communities whose lives depend on livestock, land, and seasonal mobility. We integrate humanitarian aid development interventions to build long-term resilience through:

Conflict prevention and peacebuilding through shared resource management and inter-community dialogue.
Social protection and safety-net programs that help vulnerable families withstand shocks.
Working with federal, regional, and local partners to encourage community integration and reduce conflicts.

Our Core Program Areas
Livelihoods & Agricultural Development
We empower rural and nomadic communities with hands-on training in climate-smart agriculture, sustainable livestock management, and collaborative practices that strengthen productivity and resilience.
Milk & Livestock Value Chain Empowerment
NomadicAid strengthens local economies by empowering women and youth in the dairy sector through training in milk hygiene and marketing, establishing small-scale processing centers, and connecting producers to reliable markets.
Climate Change Adaptation & Dryland Resilience
NomadicAid helps communities in Ethiopia’s Somali Region adapt to drought by promoting drought-resistant crops, water-harvesting systems, and rangeland restoration while strengthening local climate preparedness and early-warning efforts.
Conflict Resolution & Community Integration
We fosters peace and cooperation by mediating resource-based conflicts, promoting dialogue, and supporting cross-border coordination among communities in the Somali, Oromia, and Afar regions.
Social Protection & Safety Nets
NomadicAid supports vulnerable families through safety-net and cash-for-work programs, strengthening local community systems that promote livelihood recovery and inclusion of pastoral and rural households.
